Cooperative promotion

Rwanda Cooperative Agency has as core mandate to promote cooperatives. In this program, the Unit in charge of Cooperative Promotion and Capacity Building operate on different aspects to ensure cooperatives are promoted and has on market required capacity.

Cooperative Promotion and Capacity Building Unit

Here are some project that are implemented by the Cooperative Promotion and Capacity Building Unit

  1. Coordinate the development of sector policies, strategies and plans

  2. Implementation of Government Policy in matters relating to Cooperative organizations;

  3. Promoting cooperative organizations including assistance to cooperatives in the capacity building through training and seminars of its members, leaders and managers;

  4. Performance-based cooperatives and the program in charge of cooperative graduation and growth.

  5. Identification of the type of support needed for each category of cooperatives, Unions, and federations;

  6. Carrying out of policy research and impact assessment supporting the development of the cooperative movement;

  7. Improve the coordination mechanism of stakeholders and partners for an integrated and effective support of the cooperative movement.

  8. Promote cooperative membership for special groups of people such as youth, people with disabilities, women, and Rwanda.
