Mutobo: Ex-Combatant excited about the opportunity to reintegrate in a better way by working into cooperatives
Invited by the Rwanda Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (RDRC), Mutobo Demobilization Centre, RCA had a session with 44 ex-combatants from the Democratic Republic of Congo, prepared for reinsertion and reintegration.
It’s a session that focused benefits of working in a cooperative, especially for them who are about to start a new life, since their cooperatives are in special categories. They were also explained how cooperatives work both in terms of financial management and governance and were briefed about the new law governing cooperatives in Rwanda.
“This session boosted my hope. I am now convinced that in my reinsertion and reintegration I will have the opportunity to join others and start this new life with the hope for a better life.
In the forests where we lived, thinking of coming back was very scary because one thought of starting a new life was with no hope of getting no were in life. So, now we earned so much confidence in going outside, work with others, be successful and live our best life”
Mr. Mitali Jean de Dieu, Chief Cooperative Inspector in Northern Province
